About The Position

WM is hiring a Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service and repair heavy equipment used in its waste and recycling operations. The role is based at a material disposal facility in Marana, Arizona, and works Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The mechanic performs maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment and related machinery, completes preventive maintenance and associated paperwork, and helps maintain equipment that is vital to site operations. Requirements

• At least 4 years of maintenance mechanic experience on heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Repair equipment including bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front-end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars.
• Diagnose and repair differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to the site checklist.
• Complete administrative paperwork, including work orders, card files, preventive maintenance checklists, and oil samples.
• Service and maintain light plants, water pumps, welders, and other equipment.
