About The Position

The Manager of Operations is responsible for ensuring all Senior Health and Wellness Centers provide engaging and holistic wellness programming to older adults in Harris County while maintaining exceptional compliance standards as directed by our funders. The Manager of Operations ensures each BakerRipley Senior Health and Wellness Center offers engaging programs across 8 domains of wellness to older adults in the communities we serve. Ensures that we meet or exceed standards during annual program monitoring. Provides positive and constructive leadership and professional development to all Senior Center Specialists. The Manager of Operations must be able to be proactive, self-driven and lead team members through change and innovation. This role places strong value on the mentorship and development of team members, drives a positive staff culture, and seeks to problem solve as a strong collaborator with other leaders and team members in both program and support areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
  • 3-5 years of program management experience Preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Client Management systems
  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State
  • Certified Professional Food Manager, Food Safety Manager Certification Food Managers Certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Remains knowledgeable of all Senior Health and Wellness Center related contract and funding source requirements; evaluates and ensures compliance with Area Agency on Aging standards and any other contracting requirements; completes or ensures completion of any tasks necessary to bring centers into compliance.
  • Works with Senior Center Specialists in the creation of innovative and engaging programming to increase attendance and participation at the sites.
  • Supervises Senior Center Specialists.
  • Provides clear performance expectations; implements disciplinary procedures to address performance issues; conducts annual performance reviews; fosters a positive and inclusive environment; encourages staff development, independent decision making and personal responsibility/ownership of site.
  • Provides troubleshooting and problem-solving support to Senior Center Specialists for day-to-day operations while encouraging their independence.
  • Ensures Senior Health and Wellness Centers are in AAA program compliance by conducting weekly site visits amongst BakerRipley sites.
  • Verifies proper equipment functions, required posting adherence, site safety precaution are in place.
  • Notifies the Compliance Coordinator to provide corrective action if necessary.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders, including local nonprofit organizations, community partners, and teams to foster collaboration and program integration.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with funders and attend funder meetings as needed.
  • Stays informed and keeps Leadership updated on all AAA contract rules and policy changes.
  • Trains new staff on operations best practices and provides continuing education to staff.
  • Ensure that staff are meeting performance objectives for grant requirements.
  • Recruits and hires program staff in collaboration with the Director of Senior Health & Wellness.
  • Ensure all necessary compliance documentation is collected in a timely manner in preparation for the annual audit.
  • In collaboration with the Compliance Coordinator, ensures all meals and supplies are ordered as needed for sites.
  • Represents BakerRipley’s Senior Health and Wellness Centers to other agencies and community organizations at assigned meetings.
  • Ensures site coverage as needed for staff extended absences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
