About The Position

This position ensures the fulfillment of pharmacy prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist in an automated central fill pharmacy. The role focuses on maintaining a continuous and consistent workflow to meet daily production and quality goals. Responsibilities include using scanners to select and verify pharmaceutical products, entering expiration dates and lot numbers, labeling prescriptions, weighing medication for accuracy, counting or pouring medication, and preparing packages for distribution in a fast-paced production environment. The role also involves replenishing automated counting machines and maintaining the quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory, including pharmaceuticals and supplies. This includes utilizing automated inventory control systems, ensuring timely delivery and stocking, adhering to inventory control procedures, auditing and testing pill cell performance, managing the pill cell information database, troubleshooting issues, identifying and discarding hazardous waste, and processing recalled and expired pharmaceuticals. Additionally, the position involves maintaining pharmacy systems and technology, such as inventory systems and automated medication counting machines, by preparing records and reports for accurate data and system compliance. Responsibilities

  • Maintains and tracks medication inventory by sorting, placing, and storing freight in appropriate locations.
  • Restocks and replenishes medication in appropriate locations, reporting low stock levels.
  • Ensures stock rotation on a first-in, first-out basis to assist in shrinkage control.
  • Performs inventory cycle counts and assists with physical counts for inventories.
  • Creates reports using inventory information systems and monitors prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals.
  • Supports facility with reporting and paperwork to ensure productivity and pharmaceutical integrity by entering and modifying pharmaceutical data on system and forms.
  • Processes and submits paperwork, creating and maintaining documentation (e.g., files, manuals, forms, records, supplies, communications).
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies in records or files.
  • Prepares reports of pharmacy activities and inventory (e.g., state board mandated testing of counting devices).
  • Informs management about incorrect or inefficient processes and improper service procedures.
