About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Group Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, strives to improve everything they do, and has the courage to challenge the status quo. This role is crucial in shaping the future of Hiscox Group Finance to support the business's next phase of growth. The Senior Group Accountant will focus on servicing the Group level financial reporting requirements and will build close working relationships with the wider Finance team, as well as the Finance Directors and Controllers across the Hiscox business units. Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Good technical and financial reporting knowledge within the financial services sector (preferably the insurance sector)
  • Ability to constructively challenge and analyse results
  • Hands on approach and a keen eye for detail
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Good understanding of group consolidation principles and financial reporting systems (preferably Oracle)
  • Strong control mindset and experience
  • Experience of delivering change and continuously improving

Responsibilities

  • Produce and present high-quality Group consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial, statutory and regulatory reporting deliverables to both internal and external stakeholders in compliance with IFRS and Solvency II regulatory guidance.
  • Maintain and enhance the financial control environment with regards to Group consolidation reporting activities and the broader financial control framework.
  • Proactively manage strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Streamline, automate and enhance finance processes, by leveraging technology enablers, personal experience, external insights and best practice.
  • Champion and support Head of Group Financial Reporting in developing a continuous improvement culture utilising external insights and best practice.
  • Actively support both Finance and Group-wide projects relevant to the role.
  • Support and drive a culture of excellence across the wider Financial Control team.
