About The Position

As an Senior Groundwater Modeller, in our Oakville, Guelph, Calgary office, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is $134,000 to $184,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities: Develop and apply groundwater flow and transport models to support decision-making for a wide range of projects. Provide ownership, oversight, review, and technical direction of modelling projects and deliverables, collaborating closely with junior and intermediate project staff, internal collaborators, and clients. Lead discussions with clients and prepare scopes of work including pricing and staffing. Act as project manager for multiple routine projects or fewer complex projects. Develop and execute conceptual model-driven work plans that balance the application of innovative modelling tools and approaches with the scale and scope of the problem. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team focused on being trusted advisors to our clients. Manage multiple priorities, scope changes and support multiple project managers. Provide peer review and technical accountability of project results and reports. Liaise with clients and stakeholders within various sectors.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Earth Sciences or related discipline
  • 15 years’ experience in a similar role within a consulting environment with experience in hydrogeology and numerical methods.
  • Professional registration with provincial self-regulating organizations (e.g., APEGA).
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of numerical modelling tools and approaches, including, remedial action plans, subwatershed studies, environmental assessments, wellhead protection studies, and uncertainty analysis to support risk assessment.
  • Experience with FEFLOW, MODFLOW, MIKESHE, ATRANS, Hydrus, or similar software.
  • Knowledge in specialized technical areas such as geostatistics, reactive transport modelling, multi-phase modelling, or coupled surface water-groundwater flow and transport modelling.
  • Skilled in data analysis using Database/GIS/Visualization tools to support conceptual model development and numerical modelling results analyses.
  • Experience in data management and analysis, especially with Python or SQL .
  • Strong business development acumen and desire to develop and expand client opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a collaborative attitude.
  • Strong commitment to mentorship and knowledge transfer.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong experience writing technical memos and giving presentations in a consulting environment.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid class G driver’s license with no restrictions is an asset.
