Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a Sr Staff Groundwater Modeler 6-10 years’ experience to join our Private Sector Enterprise. The position focuses on the development and application of digital solutions related to quantitative hydrogeology with specific experience in performing and directing groundwater flow and contaminant transport studies. The successful candidate will be able to perform complex groundwater flow and transport modelling assignments under the direction of our nationally recognized, senior technical staff working on a variety of exciting environmental remediation, permitting, and water resources projects located throughout the United States. BC is a leader in the application of digital solutions for groundwater water supply and remediation challenges and we are looking for someone who can focus on building robust, repeatable, and scalable solutions for building and running complex groundwater models. The ability and desire to use and develop program code to incorporate computer software applications as part of the solutions is a desirable skill for this role. A basic understanding of handling incomplete hydrologic data sets and evaluating impacts of poorly understood parameters on model performance is a primary goal for this position. Target areas for the application of numerical modeling as decision support tools include: Mine Permitting and Reclamation, Site and Basin-Scale Industrial Remediation; Groundwater Recharge, Storage, and Recovery; Source Water and Aquifer Hydrologic Characterization; and, Water Resources Management and Planning. This role has the potential to work virtually and can be filled near any BC office, with a preference of Denver, Boise, Phoenix, Boston, Houston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, Reno, Carson City, or Sacramento.
