About The Position

The Senior Global FP&A Specialist, Capital & Expenditures, is a key contributor within the Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. This role functions as an advanced subject matter expert responsible for analyzing complex financial data, developing capital expenditure forecasts, and providing strategic insights to senior leadership and operational stakeholders across global regions. The Senior Specialist partners closely with key stakeholders that provide the capital planning requirements for the global capital plan and plays a critical role in driving the rolling forecast, annual budget, and long term financial planning processes. This position supports the development of capital expenditure projections and the associated operational expense impacts, including depreciation, interest, and capitalized interest. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively to both financial and non financial stakeholders.

  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant high‑level FP&A and capital planning experience.
  • Advanced experience with financial systems and accounting software.
  • Experience in applying principles of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Strong experience managing or monitoring capital expenditures and understanding depreciation methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with international entities, foreign currency impacts, and intercompany transactions is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced financial modeling techniques and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Professional certifications (CPA, CA, CFA, or similar) are preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience working in global business environment with exposure to foreign exchange impacts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the collection, validation, and consolidation of capital expenditure forecasting assumptions across multiple global regions to produce short‑ and long‑range financial projections.
  • Develop and refine operational expense forecasts derived from capital plan activities, including depreciation, interest, and capitalized interest.
  • Serve as a key financial partner to General Construction/Engineering, Site Selection, Investments, and other operational departments with capital‑related responsibilities.
  • Extract and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities; recommend corrective actions where appropriate.
  • Support enhancements, testing, and deployment of updates within financial planning systems (e.g., SAP, Power BI, other).
  • Participate in user acceptance testing for system upgrades and new FP&A platform implementations.
  • Develop and improve reporting dashboards and analytics within financial reporting platforms.
  • Prepare monthly actual‑vs‑budget‑vs‑forecast reports and deliver clear, actionable variance analyses.
  • Effectively communicate key outcomes
  • Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics for assigned portfolios.
  • Support and enhance financial models, templates, and tools used in capital planning processes.
  • Conduct financial and statistical analyses to support cost management, profitability assessments, and strategic decision‑making.
  • Review and reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts related to capital expenditures.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and operational efficiencies to improve business performance.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing financial insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties and ad‑hoc analyses as assigned by management.
