About The Position

Koniag IT Systems, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst with a TS/SCI security clearance to support KITS and our government customer at the Stennis Space Center, MS. Koniag IT Systems, LLC is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to support bathymetric data processing efforts for the U.S. Navy. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in processing and analyzing maritime geospatial data, with specific expertise in bathymetric survey data, seafloor mapping, and maritime domain applications. This role combines technical GIS expertise with an understanding of Navy requirements and oceanographic operations.

Requirements

TS/SCI security clearance
Bachelor of Science degree: 5-7 years of experience in a related field OR Master of Science degree: 3-5 years of experience in a related field OR PhD: 0-2 years of experience in a related field
Extensive experience in processing and analyzing maritime geospatial data
Specific expertise in bathymetric survey data, seafloor mapping, and maritime domain applications
Technical GIS expertise
Understanding of Navy requirements and oceanographic operations
Work independently or as part of a team as needed
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities

Responsibilities

Proficient in multi-sourced bathymetric data post-processing.
Able to review high-resolution data for quality control and assurance procedures.
Review and compile multiple datasets from geodatabases and mixed file formats.
Provide consolidated visualizations and products as assigned by the Technical Lead.
Evaluate and deconflict bathymetric/charted soundings when applicable, with supporting guidance from the Technical Lead.
