Applicants that do not meet these requirements will not be considered. SciTec is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The Senior General Ledger Accountant will be an essential part of the full-cycle general ledger close while ensuring compliance with both U.S. GAAP and Government Accounting Standards. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between commercial accounting and defense-sector compliance, managing project-based costs, intercompany transactions, and audit readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with accounting courses
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with General Ledger operations including AP, AR, fixed assets, bank reconciliations & financial reporting
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, constraints, and deadlines in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or an active pursuit of CPA
  • Experience with federal contract accounting including indirect rate analysis
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar GovCon-specific Cost accounting experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting functions as needed
  • Review and reconcile payroll, employee leave and 401k
  • Review and reconcile AP vouchers, employee reimbursements and travel reports
  • Maintain open ACH pipeline and process weekly check runs and ACH payments
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile and process monthly health insurance invoices
  • Maintain and manage fixed assets and related depreciation and amortization schedules
  • Maintain and Manage company building leases and process monthly rent and CAM payments
  • Reconcile general ledger and job cost ledger as needed
  • Implement automation of accounting operations
  • Other duties as assigned
