About The Position

Join a next-generation risk analysis and scoring platform for a payments technology company. The platform combines the client’s risk rules with AI-driven, pre-scored risk feeds from a global card network, processing high-volume payment data under PCI DSS. In a small, AI-first delivery team alongside a frontend-leaning developer, you will own the C#/.NET services and API contracts used by analyst-facing applications. You will contribute across backend and frontend development, use agentic coding tools as a primary accelerator, and support the deployment and operation of services in Azure. The work follows architecture set by the client’s architecture group, with an emphasis on raising risks early and delivering work the internal team can own.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of commercial software development experience, including at least 5 years of production-grade C#/.NET experience.
  • Experience with ASP.NET Core, asynchronous programming, dependency injection, and EF Core or Dapper.
  • Strong API design skills, including REST conventions, OpenAPI contracts, versioning, and evolving APIs without breaking consumers.
  • Relational database and distributed-systems skills, including schema design, query tuning, transactional correctness, idempotency, and failure handling.
  • Working proficiency in React and TypeScript, including the ability to build features end to end and review frontend code.
  • Daily, hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot Workspace, or Codex, with a track record of shipping AI-accelerated code suitable for production; willingness to demonstrate the workflow live.
  • Experience with Docker, including multi-stage builds and hardening, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes; AKS is preferred.
  • Testing experience with xUnit or NUnit, integration testing with real dependencies such as Testcontainers, and contract testing.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and autonomy working in an existing codebase.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with payments, card processing, risk/fraud, or merchant services, ideally in PCI-scoped systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Delta Lake, or building APIs over analytical data stores.
  • Experience with messaging and observability technologies such as Azure Service Bus, Event Hubs, Kafka, OpenTelemetry, or Application Insights.
  • Experience with OAuth2/OIDC, Microsoft Entra ID, or managed identity.
  • Python experience and exposure to LLM-integrated or agentic applications such as LangGraph.
  • Prior consulting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and ship production C#/.NET services and REST APIs for high-volume payment and risk data under PCI DSS constraints.
  • Own API contracts with the frontend, including typed OpenAPI contracts, versioning, and backward-compatible changes.
  • Implement efficient data access against the operational database and Microsoft Fabric Gold-layer risk tables at analyst-scale volumes.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, audit logging, and PCI-safe handling of tokenized card data.
  • Contribute to the React and TypeScript frontend by building features end to end, reviewing code, and pairing with teammates.
  • Use Claude Code or an equivalent agentic coding tool as a primary accelerator, supported by unit, integration, and contract tests, while taking responsibility for the quality of merged code.
  • Maintain Dockerfiles and Compose configurations, support deployments to AKS, and contribute to Azure DevOps CI/CD.
  • Implement the client architecture, raise risks early, and hand off work that the internal team can own.
