About The Position

At Schwab, the role offers an opportunity to contribute to the finance industry through innovative problem-solving and collaborative work. The selected candidate is expected to work on site in the specified location(s). Schwab’s Advisor Services Technology team manages digital products for institutional and independent advisor clients. The Web Trading team within this organization provides online brokerage capabilities that help Schwab Financial Advisors manage client trading activities. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will design and develop reliable, scalable, responsive web applications using full-stack technologies. You will work across scrum teams to address complex technical problems, improve system performance, and deliver features that enhance the advisor trading experience. You will lead maintenance and enhancement efforts, identify automation and usability improvements, and support sound technical decisions. The role calls for adaptability, thoughtful problem-solving, and a commitment to quality, security, compliance, and collaborative delivery. The position is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities in addition to the salary range.

Requirements

4+ years of full-stack application development experience.
Experience developing web applications using Angular, HTML5, CSS or SCSS, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, and JSON or XML.
Experience designing and integrating SOAP and RESTful APIs.
Experience with relational databases such as SQL or Oracle and document databases such as MongoDB.
Experience with unit testing, debugging, performance tuning, secure coding, and application deployment.
Experience designing, building, and supporting reliable front-end and back-end solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across technical and business teams.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
Experience with cloud-based microservices, private cloud environments, or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
Experience with GitHub, Bamboo, Jira, and Confluence.
Experience leading application maintenance, refactoring, performance, usability, or automation initiatives.
Knowledge of trading concepts, including order placement, block trades, positions, allocations, order statuses, or rebalancing.
Experience developing real-time trading applications.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and make effective decisions in a collaborative agile environment.
