The engineer will be responsible for designing and building the gateway to QFG's entire ecosystem, managing the end-to-end journey for external developers and partners. • Strong background in modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js).
  • Strong background in backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Go, Python, or Java).
  • Deep understanding of RESTful API design, GraphQL, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
  • Hands-on experience managing APIs via Apigee (or similar API Gateways like Kong/AWS API Gateway).
  • Proven experience implementing OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, token management, and custom API Key validation.
  • Exposure to or strong interest in Model Context Protocol (MCP) and building integrations optimized for LLMs/AI agents.
  • Developer-first empathy with a passion for building clean interfaces.
  • Systems-thinking approach to API lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

  • Own the frontend and backend of the self-serve Developer Portal, ensuring a frictionless onboarding journey.
  • Build realistic API sandbox environments and interactive testing tools.
  • Collaborate with Technical Writers and Developer Advocates to generate, maintain, and automate SDKs and interactive API documentation.
  • Design, implement, and maintain API proxies and policies using Apigee, ensuring adherence to SaaS API standards.
  • Build tooling and workflows for strategic partners to certify their integrations.
  • Design and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and external API surfaces.
  • Manage the versioning, deprecation, and backward compatibility of public APIs.
  • Implement and maintain secure authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, API Keys, and Scopes).
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps to implement robust rate-limiting, throttling, and consumer access management policies.
  • Work closely with Identity Engineers to ensure developer credentials are secure yet simple to manage.
  • Partner closely with DX Engineers, API Product Engineers, Tech Leads, and SecOps to define API specs, ensuring a world-class developer onboarding flow.
