About The Position

Landjourney builds AI-native software for agricultural lending, including loan origination, white-labeled servicing portals, automated document collection, and a capital marketplace. As a seed-stage company, we are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer for our Montreal office to join our small, senior engineering team. This role is a genuine full-stack position where you will own features end-to-end, from the Angular user interface to the FastAPI backend services and the underlying data model. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining robust applications, participating in architectural decisions, utilizing AI tools for development acceleration, and collaborating effectively across teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
• Production experience on both the backend and frontend of the same product.
• Deep Python expertise, including FastAPI, Pydantic, and async patterns.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Redis.
• Strong production experience in either Angular or React.
• Proficiency in TypeScript beyond the basics, including typed API contracts and generics.
• Experience with reactive patterns and async data flow (RxJS in Angular).
• Experience with complex forms: dynamic and nested forms, cross-field validation, multi-step wizards.
• Experience with component architecture: reusable, themeable components, smart/presentational separation, change detection.
• Experience with state management, routing and guards, lazy-loaded modules, and front-end testing.
• An eye for performance and accessibility in data-dense interfaces.
• Fluent English.

Nice To Haves

• French language proficiency.
• Experience in fintech or other regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end, including Angular screens, FastAPI services, and data models.
• Build and maintain Python/FastAPI services with clean, well-documented APIs.
• Model data using Pydantic and PostgreSQL-compatible SQL.
• Utilize Redis for caching and asynchronous workloads.
• Build and maintain substantial Angular applications, including loan origination flows, document collection interfaces, and white-labeled portals.
• Participate in architecture decisions and code reviews.
• Use AI tools to accelerate coding and testing.
• Communicate clearly across product, design, and business teams.
