About The Position

Modern Family Law is hiring a Senior Frontend React Engineer to build the frontend for a new technology product supporting real legal workflows for clients and attorneys. This is a greenfield product integrating enterprise systems, payments, data, and AI capabilities. The role owns frontend architecture and implementation in React and TypeScript, establishing patterns and production workflows that can support the product as it grows.

The engineer will work closely with product and backend engineers to turn designs and prototypes into production-ready experiences, define API contracts and client/server responsibilities, and build secure, role-aware interfaces for sensitive client information. The position also owns frontend quality, including performance, accessibility, responsiveness, browser support, and automated testing, and provides code review and technical guidance to the existing frontend developer.

Candidates must reside within commuting distance of a Modern Family Law office in Atlanta, Alpharetta, or Savannah, Georgia, or Dallas or Austin, Texas. The role is full-time. Work from anywhere is available to eligible employees after six months.

Requirements

• Must reside within commuting distance of an office in Atlanta, Alpharetta, or Savannah, GA, or Dallas or Austin, TX.
• Production experience building React and TypeScript applications with complex user workflows.
• Experience establishing frontend architecture for products with meaningful application state and significant backend-service integration.
• Strong knowledge of component architecture, state management, forms, routing, and maintainable frontend patterns.
• Experience building multi-step or workflow-based applications with validation, conditional logic, persistence, recovery, and clear error states.
• Understanding of frontend authentication flows and role-aware interfaces, including controls that must be enforced by backend services.
• Experience partnering with backend engineers to define API contracts and data structures.
• Strong accessibility, responsive design, browser compatibility, and frontend performance practices.
• Experience implementing automated frontend testing for critical components and user workflows.
• Ability to review code, establish frontend standards, and provide technical guidance to other frontend developers.
• Ability to work independently as the Senior Frontend React Engineer on a greenfield product and make sound architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own frontend architecture and implementation in React and TypeScript, from shared components and application structure through production workflows.
• Translate product designs and interactive prototypes into production-ready user experiences in collaboration with product and backend engineers.
• Establish frontend patterns for complex multi-step workflows, including forms, conditional logic, validation, autosave, resume, loading states, error handling, and recovery.
• Partner with the Senior Backend API Engineer to define API contracts, data structures, error handling, and client/server responsibilities.
• Establish component architecture, state-management patterns, routing, form strategy, and frontend conventions for a maintainable application.
• Build secure, role-aware experiences for clients and attorneys, with strong validation, clear user feedback, and accurate presentation of permissions and workflow state.
• Integrate AI-powered capabilities into product workflows and present generated content, sources, confirmations, corrections, loading states, and failures clearly to users.
• Own frontend performance, accessibility, responsive behavior, browser support, and production quality.
• Establish testing practices for critical components and user workflows, including component, workflow, and regression coverage.
• Review code, set frontend standards, and provide technical guidance to the existing frontend developer as the team grows.
