About The Position
The Senior Front-End Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, and maintains complex software applications, focusing on front-end development, application performance, and scalable solutions. The role collaborates with software development and systems engineering teams to create software capabilities, enhance existing applications, and deliver solutions that meet evolving technical and operational requirements. The engineer develops and maintains applications using AngularJS, Node.js, and JavaScript, with tools and frameworks including npm and gulp. The role also uses Java, Python, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch to support application development, data integration, and system functionality. Responsibilities include analyzing system performance standards, designing and implementing software solutions, and developing and executing test procedures to ensure reliability and performance. The position provides technical leadership across multiple software development teams, guiding software architecture, design, implementation, and quality control. It involves using scientific analysis and mathematical models to evaluate performance and predict the results of design decisions, overseeing software quality, reviewing technical documentation, and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver reliable, maintainable, and efficient software solutions. The position is in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance, and allows up to 16 hours of telework weekly.
Requirements
- Twenty years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting complex software development projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Experience developing front-end software applications using AngularJS and Node.js.
- Experience with JavaScript build tools and frameworks, including npm and gulp.
- Experience developing software applications using Java and Python.
- Experience working with MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
- Experience serving as technical lead for multiple software development teams.
- Experience developing software solutions by analyzing system performance standards and technical requirements.
- Experience designing, developing, and modifying complex software systems.
- Experience applying scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure software performance and design outcomes.
- Experience developing and executing test procedures for software components.
- Experience ensuring quality control through testing, debugging, code reviews, and defect resolution.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and maintaining software system documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
- TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required.
