Senior FP&A (w/m/d)

Black Semiconductor

About The Position

We are seeking a Senior FP&A professional to significantly shape the financial management of our company during a critical growth phase. In this key role, you will not only be responsible for our financial planning and performance management but also strategically develop the FP&A function at the corporate level. Your work environment is characterized by capital expenditure-intensive structures, long development cycles, complex supply chains, and fabless, fab-lite, and IDM models. The role is centrally positioned, reporting directly to the CFO with high visibility at the C-level and board level. You will manage budgets in the three-digit million range, provide decision-relevant analyses for strategic decisions, and actively shape the further development of our finance organization – with a clear perspective on building and leading your own team.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, or Investment Banking / Private Equity with a semiconductor or hardware focus.
  • Professional experience at semiconductor companies (Intel, TSMC, GlobalFoundries, NXP, Infineon, etc.) or at Tier 1 suppliers is an advantage.
  • Sound understanding of the Semiconductor Value Chain (Design → Foundry → OSAT → Distribution → OEM).
  • Understanding of fabless, fab-lite, or IDM business models and their financial mechanics.
  • Experience in managing capital expenditure-intensive, long-term business models with budget responsibility in the three-digit million range.
  • Excellent financial modeling skills with a focus on unit economics of physical products.
  • Experience in supporting fundraising and due diligence processes (Financial Models, data rooms, Investor Q&A).
  • Hands-on mentality, high ownership, and the ambition to create measurable impact in a scale-up environment.
  • Negotiation-level German and English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the integrated financial model, considering semiconductor-specific factors (NRE, wafer costs, yield curves, and capacity utilization).
  • Modeling of product roadmaps with multi-generation chip developments and their P&L impact over multi-year horizons.
  • Conducting well-founded scenario analyses (e.g., Make-vs.-Buy, foundry partner strategies, capacity allocations).
  • Preparation of decision-relevant board documents with key semiconductor KPIs (Design Wins, Time-to-Market, Gross Margin by Node and Product, Tape-out Timelines).
  • Close collaboration and sparring with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales.
  • Deep understanding and modeling of Bill of Materials (BoM), wafer, test, and assembly costs, as well as yield optimization.
  • Management of cash flow and liquidity logic in business models with long cash conversion cycles (foundry prepayments, inventory build-up, customer-specific payment terms).
  • Capex planning and ROI analyses for equipment, tooling, test infrastructure, and lab expansions in the three-digit million range.
  • Building and utilizing competitive intelligence on pricing, market shares, and technological trends.
  • Understanding of semiconductor cycles and their impact on forecasts, scenarios, and liquidity planning.
  • Analysis of end-market dynamics and customer concentration risks.
  • Further development and professionalization of the FP&A function for the next growth phase.
  • Introduction and scaling of reporting and planning systems for complex manufacturing and fabless models.
  • Close collaboration with Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, and Strategy.
  • Clear perspective on team building and leadership with further company growth.
