Fanatics Collectibles•New York, NY
•$145,000 - $181,250

About The Position

Fanatics Collectibles is building a next-generation collectibles company at the intersection of collectibles, culture, and technology, as part of Fanatics’ broader digital sports platform. The Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer reports to Finance Leadership and partners directly with Strategic Finance and business function teams. This hands-on, embedded AI-native builder identifies high-impact problems and rapidly delivers practical technology solutions that create business value. The role suits someone comfortable with ambiguity and open-ended problem solving, fluent in modern AI capabilities, and motivated to create leverage through automation, workflow optimization, and intelligent tooling. Solutions may include lightweight operational tools and AI-enabled workflows, as well as scalable systems that may later be transitioned to broader engineering teams for long-term production support. Success requires technical execution, business partnership, rapid iteration, and practical problem solving.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience building and shipping software, automations, internal tools, or AI-enabled solutions; the emphasis is on demonstrated work and its impact rather than years of experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern AI tools, LLMs, agentic workflows, and practical AI application development.
  • Experience rapidly prototyping and deploying business-facing technical solutions in fast-paced or ambiguous environments.
  • Strong proficiency in modern programming languages and development frameworks such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Node.js, or similar technologies.
  • Experience integrating APIs, operational platforms, databases, and third-party business systems.
  • Ability to independently identify problems, architect solutions, and drive implementation with minimal oversight.
  • Experience building dashboards, workflow automations, reporting tools, or operational systems that improve business processes and decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of AI-assisted development workflows and modern productivity tooling.
  • Ability to balance rapid experimentation with technical judgment and scalability considerations.
  • Ability to quickly understand financial processes, business metrics, and operational context and translate business problems into technical solutions independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working directly with business stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • High ownership and ability to drive projects independently from concept through implementation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to finance or enterprise environments.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and practical AI applications.
  • A builder mentality, bias toward execution and iteration, and motivation to create business impact.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, evolving, and fast-moving environments.
  • Ability to simplify complex operational challenges into intuitive technical solutions.
  • Practical systems thinking to balance speed, flexibility, and long-term value.
  • Entrepreneurial, resourceful approach to creating operational leverage through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Strategic Finance and operational business teams to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for AI-enabled solutions.
  • Rapidly prototype and implement internal tools, workflows, automations, dashboards, and operational systems that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Build AI-native solutions using LLMs, intelligent automation, workflow orchestration, and modern AI tooling to improve operational speed, visibility, and decision-making.
  • Build integrations and connectors across tools and platforms, including Slack, Microsoft 365, Oracle, Snowflake, Sigma, Airtable, and Notion, to streamline workflows, automate handoffs, and centralize information.
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into practical technical solutions, prioritizing speed, usability, and value creation.
  • Develop fluency in the business context, financial processes, and operational priorities of supported functions to identify problems independently.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, and technology stakeholders to iterate on solutions using real-world feedback and changing business needs.
  • Work with engineering and technology teams to transition high-value solutions into scalable, production-ready systems when appropriate.
  • Evaluate and experiment with emerging AI technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve internal capabilities and operational leverage.
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner to business leaders and help shape solution strategy and implementation priorities.
