About The Position

QDSS is seeking an experienced Aircraft-Level Flight Control System Integrator to support integration of fly-by-wire (FBW) flight control systems within aircraft programs. The role works across flight controls, aircraft systems, avionics, electrical systems, software, safety, and verification teams to ensure the Flight Control System (FCS) functions correctly within the overall aircraft architecture. It focuses on aircraft-level functionality, system interfaces, integration dependencies, and end-to-end verification across interacting aircraft systems. The integrator helps establish and maintain a coordinated integration approach, identify and resolve cross-system issues, and provide technical visibility into integration readiness, risks, and verification progress. The position requires working across organizational and engineering boundaries in a complex aircraft development environment. This is a remote role requiring up to 25% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • At least 7 years of experience in an aerospace-related field.
  • Experience defining and certifying at least one FBW and/or Secondary Flight Control system.
  • Understanding of system definition, integration, and certification, including aircraft systems and interfaces such as electrical, hydraulic, avionics, and auto-flight systems.
  • Working knowledge of the Part 25 certification process.
  • Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow simulation environments.
  • Familiarity with aircraft certification and development standards, including ARP4754A/ARP4754B, ARP4761/ARP4761A, DO-178C, and DO-254.
  • Experience with redundant FBW architectures, flight control computers, control laws, sensors, actuators, and fault-management concepts.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience modeling and dynamically simulating flight control electrical and hydraulic actuators.
  • Familiarity with simulation environments such as ADAMS or design tools such as CATIA.
  • Working knowledge of French.
  • Experience with aircraft data buses and networks, air data systems, inertial reference systems, avionics interfaces, or integrated modular avionics.
  • Experience with anomaly investigation, root-cause analysis, technical discrepancy management, and verification closure.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate the fly-by-wire and Secondary Flight Controls system on the aircraft.
  • Support development of concepts, design approach, and philosophy with the Flight Control System supplier.
  • Perform or review analyses to evaluate concept feasibility.
  • Develop, validate, and verify Flight Control System technical requirements.
  • Review and prepare technical requirements.
  • Review and prepare test procedures.
  • Execute test-rig and/or aircraft testing.
  • Review and prepare test reports in support of certification activities.
  • Resolve problems arising from in-service aircraft.
  • Troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, and define and execute corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with the ARP4754 development process.
  • Support trade-off studies and life-cycle cost analysis for future programs.
  • Ensure the design process and resulting equipment implementation align with Bombardier requirements and standards.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Employer-matched 401(k).
  • Certification assistance.
  • Opportunities for advancement.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, life, and disability coverage.
  • Professional development support.
