Senior Flavor Applications Scientist
About The Position

Our Senior Chobani Labs Scientist I will lead and collaborate with a team of scientists and developers to help guide and shape innovation and development of new products at Chobani. Under the supervision of a manager, this role will work with a team that advances projects within Chobani’s discovery pipeline and conduct research that complements our programs.
Requirements
- Highly motivated, being able to multi-task, recognize and able to prioritize
- PhD with 3+ years postdoctoral/industry experience in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Cellular Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Engineering, Microbiology, or related biological science fields with research experience in HT Synthetic Biology platform
- Record of research-focused innovation, ability to analyze and interpret scientific and technical research data, technical understanding, and technical writing
- Experience in genetic manipulation of microbial cells, including PCR and recombinant DNA assembly methodology, such as Gibson Assembly/Gateway Cloning, restriction enzyme digestion, ligation, and synthetic biology
- Functional genomics, CRISPR-based perturbation technologies. Deep knowledge of different PCR methods and primer/probe design
- Hands-on experience in qPCR/ddPCR, analysis on copy number or gene expression
- Experience in DNA/RNA/protein isolation, sequence analysis tools, database search, and basic bioinformatics
- Experience with microbial cell culture techniques including cell transformation and expression screenings, FACS, etc.
- Excellent oral, written, and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Independently define scope of project, following manager’s direction, and apply scientific methods to design and conduct experiments
- Perform innovative research in industrial strain development technology
- Stay up to date with scientific knowledge, recent invention and trends in molecular biology, synthetic Biology, etc.
- Organize, communicate, and present complicate dataset
- Timely deliver reproducible and impactful results
- Troubleshoot technical challenges, optimize and document protocols
- Uphold Chobani’s core values and agenda
