About The Position

The Senior Fire Protection Engineer plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed engineering work within a project or staff group. The role applies conventional engineering practices and may involve complex design requirements, material selection challenges, and difficult coordination needs. The engineer works with Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), coordinates with engineering disciplines, clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities, and may lead other engineers or project subgroups on assigned tasks. The position also communicates technical issues and recommendations to supervisors or project management, contributes to engineering procedures and design guides, and mentors designers and drafters. The role is focused on fire protection systems for semiconductor, AI data center, life sciences, or pharmaceutical projects. It includes independently specifying systems and equipment, performing fire-water demand and hydraulic calculations, supporting regulatory approvals, coordinating engineering subcontracts, and troubleshooting issues in field or job-site settings. This is a 12-month contract based in Houston, Texas, with a hybrid schedule of three days onsite per week. Local candidates only.
