About The Position

The Senior Fire Protection Engineer plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of mechanical engineering work within a project or staff group. The work involves conventional engineering practice as well as complex design challenges, including conflicting design requirements, unsuitable conventional materials, and difficult coordination needs. The engineer uses Client Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), prepares or coordinates equipment and work specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and award recommendations, and coordinates engineering efforts with other disciplines, the client, suppliers, and contractors. The role provides technical leadership to engineers or project subgroups on assigned tasks, communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to supervisors or project management, and supports the development of Engineering Department Procedures, design guides, standard computer applications, and administrative practices. The engineer also mentors designers and drafters and contributes to a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction. The position focuses on fire protection systems for semiconductor, AI datacenter, and/or life-sciences or pharmaceutical projects. The engineer independently specifies fire protection systems and equipment, performs fire-water demand and hydraulic calculations, coordinates regulatory approvals, supports system testing and compliance, and manages engineering subcontract work. The assignment is temporary, onsite in Chandler, Arizona, for 12 months.
