About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a vital role in Pipeline Health’s operations. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, coordinating, overseeing, aggregating and monitoring the organization’s financial data including but not limited to reconciling all accounting, general ledger, financial statement entries and reconciliations between all Pipeline Health affiliated facilities and Pipeline Health’s Corporate entities. This position will provide technical accounting, analysis and support to the Finance Department and to other departments across the Pipeline Health system. This position will be responsible for establishing procedures, formulation and/or enhancement of internal control systems and processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of these areas of the Hospitals’ financial statements. Key position responsibilities include financial accounting and analysis, budget development and reporting, cost accounting and labor productivity reporting and development. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.

Requirements

  • Must have three (3) years of performing senior level financial analyst functions and familiarity with acute care hospital accounting and operations.
  • Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, strong organizational skills, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC (computer) skills.
  • A capacity to learn, synthesize, make critical judgments, work independently, place patients and families first, and collaborate with the team members who are recognized leaders within health care.

Nice To Haves

  • Managerial experience within the acute hospital or similarly related setting will be helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly cash flow and weekly bank reconciliation for submission to Corporate Treasurer.
  • Monthly reconciliation of cash accounts.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • May be responsible for preparation of quarterly report to Department of Health Care Access and Information Office (HCAI), sales tax, and other report filings.
  • Review and analyze monthly general ledger expense accounts months and prepare accruals.
  • May be assigned multiple approved affiliate general ledger responsibilities of Pipeline Health System.
  • Responsibilities may include posting of hospital specific and/or intercompany journal entries.
  • Maintains documentation for disposals of fixed assets.
  • Collaborate with Senior Accountants and controllers to ensure the intercompany accounts are balanced at month-end.
  • Assumes other senior financial analyst level responsibilities as assigned, works with auditors, cost report auditors, lender exam, annual report to HCAI, prepares special reports and projects as assigned.
  • Uses clear, concise, professional communication with coworkers, patients, all customers internal and external.
  • Uses AIDET in interactions with patients and family members.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency when performing tasks.
  • When reporting in the office, basic unit/department maintenance such as keeping files, drawers, cabinets free from unnecessary clutter.
  • Abides by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations.
  • Speaks up to stop the line and escalates potential safety events if necessary.
  • Completes and attends monthly training assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
