About The Position

As the Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A) at 7shifts, you'll own the operating expense side of the business. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, you'll be a key member of our lean, two-person FP&A team, leading expense forecasting, building driver-based financial models, and translating data into insights that guide decisions across the business. Your work will have immediate visibility and impact from day one. This is a highly collaborative business partnering role. You'll work closely with department leaders and executives to challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and tell the story behind the numbers. You'll also play a key role in migrating our financial models from spreadsheets to Drivetrain, helping modernize our planning process. With meaningful exposure to strategic initiatives, balance sheet and cash flow forecasting, this role offers strong opportunities for growth and development.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Financial Analyst in a SaaS or startup environment, with a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly understand business models and identify the key drivers behind financial performance.
  • Fluency in SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, CAC, LTV, and retention, with a strong understanding of how they influence operating costs and overall business health.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and forecasting, with the discipline to build, maintain, and document defensible assumptions.
  • Experience using financial systems, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms (such as NetSuite, ThoughtSpot, and Finqore) to deliver accurate, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear recommendations for stakeholders across the business while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Own operating expense (OPEX) forecasting and budget maintenance by ensuring routine and non-routine transactions are accurately reflected across departmental P&Ls.
  • Partner with department leaders to evaluate, challenge, and document the assumptions that drive operating costs.
  • Build reports, presentations, and financial analyses that provide actionable insights for leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in migrating driver-based financial models from spreadsheets to Drivetrain.
  • Support the Manager, FP&A on strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects, including fundraising, M&A, and the evolution of balance sheet and cash flow forecasting.
  • Leverage AI tools like Claude to streamline workflows, enhance analysis, draft first-pass commentary, and validate financial models.
