Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Commerce, Management Accounting or Financial Accounting
  • Pursuing a CPA, CFA or related designation
  • Minimum 3 years of Financial Analysis experience required
  • Critical thinking and analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Understanding of SQL and BI Tools
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into concise, non-technical insights for senior leadership
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently and interface with all relevant internal teams and external business partners as needed
  • Comfort working in a fluid and oftentimes ambiguous environment; capable of making adjustments in both day-to-day and large-scale activities based on new information and developments

Responsibilities

  • Generate management reports and presentations to support senior leadership
  • Build, maintain and refine budget models for forecasting, budgeting and scenario planning
  • Analyze variances against budget and translate data into actionable insights
  • Provide business support and partner with operational managers to improve profitability
  • Create and maintain financial models for new initiatives and strategic projects
  • Automate reports and enhance financial systems to increase efficiency
  • Collect data for reporting and ad hoc analysis
  • Prepare, analyze and report on cash flow forecasts
  • Manage cash balances and effect transactions to ensure sufficient levels exist to support business requirements
  • Engage in communications with the bank and manage bank account structures and user access to ensure proper security controls
  • Provide support in capital financing and banking requirements
  • Maintain organized documentation of Finance processes
  • Support activities in compliance with established internal policies and segregation of duties
  • Assist with financing documentation and processing of insurance claims
  • Ad hoc activities, as required
  • All tasks to be completed in a safe manner in compliance with regulatory, legislative guidelines and company health and safety policies and procedures
  • To constantly challenge the current methods and techniques in a controlled manner that will provide for a superior, more efficient and improved result
