BorgWarner Emissions Systems of Michigan Inc. seeks a Senior Financial Analyst based out of our office at 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. This is a hybrid position requiring the employee to work from the office and from home, necessitating residence within a reasonable commuting distance. The role involves international and domestic travel up to 30% as needed. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the overall financial analysis of the Turbos and Thermal Technologies (TTT) Propulsion Technical Center (PTC), coordinating with various levels of management, including senior leadership, plant controllers, and corporate finance executives. This role provides analytical support for global PTC engineering financial reporting, consolidating actuals, forecasts, and budget/Long Range Plan (LRP) by department and cost center. Collaboration with Senior Engineering Management and the Director of Finance for Global Engineering on project reporting is key. The analyst will assist the BU Senior Financial Manager/Director of Finance and plant controllers, primarily in Mexico, with projects and analysis. Key activities include consolidation, accounting treatment, financial reporting, internal control/SOX compliance, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, audits, and tax. A significant part of the role involves working with Mexican plants to ensure internal control compliance, including reviewing account reconciliations and supporting documentation for risk and control matrices. The analyst will act as a liaison between the BU/Region and Mexican plants, supporting month-end close and forecasts to ensure alignment on reporting standards and deadlines. Responsibilities also include tracking customs billing, managing corporate tariff presentations, monthly tracking of Americas financial results, monitoring KPIs with variance analysis, and identifying/implementing process improvements. The role includes educating Mexico-based finance teams on financial systems and reporting, providing early warnings on business trends affecting the RU's performance (P&L, balance sheet, operational issues), and performing monthly financial closing, including journal entries and account reconciliations in SAP. The analyst will prepare monthly earnings call packages and quarterly balance sheet review packages. Collaboration with engineering and sales is required for R&D reimbursements and Prototype income, along with other assigned financial analysis duties.
