About The Position

This Senior Financial Analyst role helps REI succeed by providing timely, accurate, and decision-focused financial analysis for the CMO organization. This role supports Membership (loyalty program), Cobranded Credit Card, and Gift Card. This role works closely with business leaders to deliver core FP&A support, including financial planning, reporting, and investment examination. The role also focuses on advancing the Co-op’s long-range strategic goals, such as program ROI, best member growth, and member lifetime value. Overall, the role combines core FP&A duties with strategic finance support for the CMO organization.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of financial planning and examination experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or similar
  • Proven success executing a corporate-wide budget cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, examine and objectively solve problems using sound judgment
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple contending priorities and deadlines under pressure
  • Advanced PC experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or similar certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with Board of Directors and senior management professionals
  • Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP, and/or equivalent planning and ERP systems

  • Experience working with retail loyalty, co-branded credit card and gift card programs

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial and data-backed support for Retail Loyalty (Membership), Customer Planning, Co-branded Credit Card, and Gift Card programs.
  • Support the development and execution of the Co-op’s strategic growth plans. Partner with others to evaluate investments and assess new business models. Focus on customer acquisition, engagement, and lifetime value.
  • Build financial models, create business cases, and examine data to drive actionable insights for leadership decisions.
  • Partner with and manage cross-functional teams in all execution phases. This includes diligence, business case creation, financial modeling, planning, and integration.
  • Drive proactive ad-hoc financial analysis by identifying needed information. Find where the data is located. Conclude how to compile, examine, and present it.
  • Own the set-up, creation and execution of strategic planning, budgeting, and subsequent intra-year forecasting of processes and tools.
  • Partner with department managers to set best practices for expense tracking and performance measurement. Reinforce a solid focus on forecast accuracy, financial discipline, and ROI.
  • Produce budget justification review utilized by the Leadership Team to review, prioritize and make recommendations on the proposed operating budget.
  • Produce regular co-op reporting including Board Packets, Business Reviews, and key operational dashboards.
  • Identify financial impact of strategic goals, which are to be factored into the multi-year strategic plan.
  • Compile monthly reporting for each department that explains P&L variances and solicit feedback for forecasting.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors, providing data and explanations on processes flows.
  • Make recommendations guided by policies, procedures, business plans, and guidance from Manager.
