At the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, our primary goal is to protect the environment and public health. We do this by ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws. The State of Ohio is committed to providing access and inclusion and reasonable accommodation in its services, activities, programs and employment opportunities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable laws. Ohio EPA wants you to join our Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR) as a senior financial analyst at its Central Office in Columbus, Ohio. We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented person to help keep DERR’s financial operations running smoothly. You’ll use critical thinking skills in handling complex financial data and managing key tasks like processing invoices, managing accounts payable, payroll, and tracking revenue from multiple funding sources. Collaborating with program offices and division management, you’ll assist with supporting the fiscal aspects of our federal grants, such as reviewing applications, preparing budgets, running status reports, and reconciling grant activity across state and federal accounting systems. On the project side, you’ll also help coordinate the division’s Level of Effort (LOE) mobilizations, manage project solicitations and create requisitions for awarded work. On top of that, you’ll support DERR’s cost recovery, hazardous waste, and voluntary action programs by preparing billing, tracking revenue, and assisting with collections.
