About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst serves as the primary fiscal manager for multiple business/auxiliary units in Finance & Operations, providing financial leadership, strategic analysis, budgeting and operational support. This position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Three to five years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting or financial management.
Experience preparing, analyzing, and presenting complex financial reports, reconciliations, forecasts and financial models.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including ability to identify financial trends, variances, and discrepancies and recommend appropriate solutions.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using financial reporting systems, financial data sources, or reporting tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and explain financial information to leadership, business partners, and other stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in higher education or another large, complex organization.
Experience with enterprise financial systems and business reporting tools.
Knowledge of university financial policies, procedures and fund accounting principles.

Responsibilities

Develop and prepare annual operating budgets for assigned units.
Prepare complex recurring and non-routine financial reports and reconciliations.
Perform complex financial, operational, and statistical analysis using university financial systems and data.
Ensure compliance with university policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
