About The Position

The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a strategic finance partner to Kinaxis’ Professional Services function. This role provides forward-looking financial insight, analysis, and performance measurement to support informed decision-making and enable sustainable, profitable growth. By translating complex financial and operational information into clear, actionable insights, this role helps stakeholders understand the financial implications of services growth initiatives, capacity planning, and profitability-focused operational decisions.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in accounting, business, or related field; CPA designation or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, finance, or a related analytical role; experience in a global technology company is an asset.
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders across the business and building effective working relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize inputs and develop clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and incorporate feedback to remain aligned with stakeholder needs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Experience supporting business cases through cross-functional collaboration and financial analysis.
  • Experience with accounting and financial planning systems (e.g., NetSuite and Planful)

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the Professional Services leadership team, developing a strong understanding of revenue drivers, capacity planning, and margin dynamics.
  • Lead quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting for the Professional Services function, owning integrated revenue and expense models and coordinating inputs across Services leadership, HR, and Corporate FP&A.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to assess performance and forecast outcomes, with a focus on headcount planning, utilization, backlog-to-revenue conversion, and delivery margin scenarios.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of headcount and capacity decisions in a large, global organization, including hiring plans, role mix, regional deployment, and billable versus non-billable trade-offs.
  • Analyze financial results and operational KPIs, identifying trends, variances, and key drivers to support informed, timely decision-making.
  • Own monthly reporting and quarterly business reviews, delivering clear, decision-oriented analysis that explains performance versus plan and highlights key risks and opportunities.
  • Manage and prioritize a high volume of analytical requests, distilling complex or ambiguous inputs into clear, actionable insights for senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present financial insights, recommendations, and scenarios in a concise, executive-ready manner.
  • Contribute to the evolution of FP&A processes, tools, and reporting standards, and provide informal leadership through mentoring and collaboration.
