About The Position
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our accounting financial information. In this position, you'll be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis that support our internal and external financial reporting, all in accordance with IFRS standards.
Requirements
- CPA designation
- Ability to read and understand accounting policies (including IFRS).
- Proficiency in key financial systems such as Ellipse, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational abilities.
- The capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively while consistently meeting strict deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries, reconciliations, cash flows and financial statements.
- Manage cost of sales and inter-company reconciliations, ensuring all reporting aligns with the month-end checklist.
- External and internal financial reporting.
- Prepare annual CSR and ESTMA reports.
- Ensure the operational effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Maintain SOx documentation, and respond to auditor requests promptly.
- Ensure proper approvals are documented before system changes.
- Guarantee adherence to all statutory requirements, legislation, regulations, policies, work standards, and governance, fostering integrity and transparency in all financial information.
