As the Senior Finance Systems Engineer - Revenue, you will be primarily responsible for the management of our revenue system landscape - facilitating any system updates and changes to support the ongoing revenue reporting and compliance requirements in a hyper-growth environment. At the moment, this role is focused on: Developing a deep understanding of the end-to-end B2B & B2C revenue system landscape and triage all major changes to any of these systems or related integrations. Oversee the ongoing system and process improvement projects across various stakeholders including Revenue Platform Engineering, Finance Data Platform, Business Data Platform and the Finance Revenue Operations teams, as well as external vendors that Canva works with (E.g. Zuora). Stay up-to-date with any changes in the revenue system landscape and assist the Finance team in managing any impacts on the systems or the underlying business logic to financial reporting. Assist the Finance team in implementing ongoing system monitoring controls (SOX & ITGC) and audits to ensure data accuracy, compliance, and adherence to established policies and procedures. Perform investigations related to troubleshooting and technical root cause analysis in collaboration with various stakeholders to provide permanent solutions. Continuously assess system performance and identify areas for improvement, implementing optimisation strategies to enhance efficiency and user experience. Collating and maintaining all relevant documentation throughout the process as required by various teams from advisors, auditors and management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in financial systems management with a focus on Billing and Revenue systems
  • Hands-on experience with Zuora or equivalent revenue and billing platforms (e.g. SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce Billing, Chargebee), including implementation, configuration, and ongoing administration
  • Experience implementing integrations with third-party systems and tools, such as payment gateways, automation platforms, and data warehouses
  • Experience providing system administration and support, including troubleshooting technical issues and optimising system performance
  • Familiarity with adjacent Finance systems - such as Collections, sales compensation, or general ledger platforms - sufficient to assess cross-system impacts and support integrated delivery
  • Proficiency in producing SQL scripts and using data analytical tools to investigate and gather relevant information
  • Solid knowledge of revenue recognition principles and applicable accounting standards such as IFRS 15 / ASC 606, along with the ability to translate Finance requirements into technical solutions
