About The Position

RTX, a global leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking a Finance Manager for its Specter business portfolio within the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) SBU. This role is part of the Strike Initiatives (SI) finance team, focusing on a program area transitioning to production. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing requirements, and serve as a deputy to the Business Manager, requiring proactive leadership. This position involves significant interaction with Program Directors/Managers, Functional leads, and customer counterparts to ensure program execution within agreed parameters while adhering to Raytheon's policies. The role demands strong technical finance and program controls knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. Key responsibilities include managing financial customer deliverables (CDRLs), variance analysis, presenting at business reviews, Earned Value Management (EVM), compliance, and Estimates at Completion (EACs). The candidate should be capable of producing individual work, leading teams on multiple concurrent deliverables, taking ownership of daily financial products, prioritizing tasks, and driving process improvements for efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Experience interfacing with various functional disciplines (Engineering, Supply Chain, Contracts, Operations, Quality, etc.).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned Value Management experience to include IBRs (Integrated Baseline Reviews) (Leading at suppliers and program), delivery of all EV CDRL formats including CSDR (Cost & Software Data Reporting) and CFSR (Contract Funds Status Report).
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and develop and apply solutions and process improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the deputy to the Business Manager, requiring proactive leadership.
  • Manage financial customer deliverables (CDRLs).
  • Perform variance analysis.
  • Present financial information at business level reviews.
  • Oversee Earned Value Management (EVM) and compliance.
  • Manage Estimates at Completion (EACs).
  • Produce individual work products and analysis using system tools.
  • Lead teams on multiple work-products and deliverables concurrently.
  • Take ownership over tactical day-to-day financial products and prioritization.
  • Drive continued process improvements and build efficiencies into finance-based aspects of the program area.
  • Act as the financial point of contact for Program Management.
  • Provide financial guidance to IPT leads and non-finance organizations (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations).
  • Develop, train, and lead program controls teams.
  • Implement and supervise contractually required EVMS (Earned Value Management) reporting.
  • Support the EAC process by driving functional meetings and collaborating with functional counterparts.
  • Coordinate and communicate with SSBU and Program Finance teams to set expectations for EAC and forecast deliverables.
  • Provide financial leadership in proposals, developing competitive offerings and securing internal alignment.
  • Develop and present business case analyses to secure investment.
  • Evaluate and improve internal controls, tools, and processes.
