About The Position

McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing Inc. is an industry leading designer and manufacturer of refuse truck bodies, producing a complete line of high-performance rear load, front load, and automated side load refuse bodies. The Senior Field Service Technician will support the Oshkosh S-Series front discharge mixer product. This role will also be responsible for performing diagnostics and repairs at customer sites throughout the US and in some cases internationally for all products produced within their realm of expertise to ensure our products are repaired in a proper and timely manner to reduce any future issues. They may be responsible for traveling to customers sites within their assigned territory (truck end users) to perform in service operations and maintenance training to ensure customers know how to operate our equipment in a proper and safe manner. This position will be based in the field and require daily/weekly travel within assigned territories. Technicians will be provided a company vehicle and a company Fuel Card to pay for vehicle expenses. Must be able to be insured by Oshkosh Corporation. 80% Travel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Technologically Proficient- basic computer skills, Microsoft office.
  • Ability to use smart phone.
  • Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills
  • Ability to read and understand schematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Diesel Equipment Technology or related field.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Experience in automotive, heavy trucks, or marine repair.
  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor customer product readiness within the assigned territory to support diagnostics and repairs that the customer is unable to perform or resolve.
  • Provide product orientation classes at customer locations for various products.
  • Onsite at customer locations, diagnose and repair all issues related to equipment.
  • Assist dealer service technicians with diagnosing and repairing, either on-site, on the phone, or via email.
  • Follow up on repairs made to customer equipment, to ensure customer is satisfied.
  • Troubleshoot customer concerns and develop best resolution.
  • Lead and mentor other Field Service Technicians as required.
