About The Position

As a Senior Field Reliability Technician, you will be responsible for complex corrective and preventive maintenance of industrial electro-mechanical systems. This role involves partnering with customer teams to enhance equipment reliability and ensure peak performance across various locations in the U.S. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, recondition machine tools, source necessary materials, refine maintenance strategies, operate machining equipment, document all work, mentor junior technicians, and utilize advanced maintenance technologies. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to customer codes of conduct.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree with a technical focus and 10+ years of directly related industry experience; or 12+ years of related industry experience.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; able to analyze issues, propose alternatives, and execute repairs.
  • Proficiency with standard hand tools and specialized tools appropriate to the work.
  • Extensive travel (local and/or national).
  • Applicants may live anywhere within the Continental United States.

Responsibilities

  • Execute expert-level corrective and preventive maintenance: observe operating equipment to pinpoint root causes, methodically disassemble assemblies, inspect components for wear or defects, adjust mechanisms and control instruments, repair or replace parts, and validate performance through mechanical and electrical testing.
  • Recondition and repair machine tools while upholding industry standards of quality and safety.
  • Source parts, supplies, and repair materials; weigh alternatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce cost.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with customer counterparts to refine maintenance strategies, reliability practices, and PM procedures.
  • Operate machining equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools) to fabricate or restore parts; perform welding when required.
  • Document all work in service reports and applicable management systems, clearly communicating observations and performance data trends.
  • Serve as a technical resource: mentor junior technicians and contribute leadership to project teams.
  • Diagnose sophisticated control systems to resolve software, hardware, and configuration issues.
  • Leverage advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data, spot patterns, and recommend improvements.
  • Pursue ongoing growth through on-the-job training and self-directed technical study.
  • Champion safety at all times—follow policies, maintain situational awareness, and identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Adhere to customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes.
