Leidos is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to support a position in Northern Virginia. This role requires 30-40% CONUS travel. The Field Engineer will deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, edge switches, telecommunications systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer operations. This is a fast-paced program that requires someone who works well in a dynamic environment. The Field Engineer is responsible for procedural input to the planning, preparation, and execution of all projects. They will be responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staff, and must have the ability to complete complex assignments without direction and direct more junior engineers. Additional duties include performing the physical setup and configuration of desktop hardware and software, troubleshooting network connectivity issues, installing applicable equipment (with racks if needed), performing onsite testing of equipment, coordinating with other engineers, installing and connecting applicable cables, coordinating pick-up and delivery of equipment, troubleshooting desktop and network anomalies, serving as a technical liaison between the site and technical business areas for IT issues and system upgrades, building workstations, managing software and hardware support, maintaining access control by creating and managing user accounts and troubleshooting login issues, monitoring server activities and providing expert technical support, maintaining operational status of all phone systems, and providing after-hours response/resolution for technical issues.
