Senior Facilities Manager – JLL What this job involves – As a Senior Facilities Manager at JLL, you will serve as the primary point of contact for delivering exceptional facilities management services within highly regulated laboratory and research environments. This role demands a deep understanding of the unique operational requirements, safety protocols, and compliance standards that govern life sciences spaces. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team while partnering with clients to ensure their critical research facilities operate seamlessly, safely, and efficiently.

Requirements

  • 5+ years facility management experience, with at least 2 years in leadership capacity managing complex commercial properties
  • Excellent verbal / written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
  • Strong budget management skills with demonstrated ability to forecast, analyze, and control operational expenses across multi-million dollar facility portfolios
  • Experience in driving OSHA compliant safety program and maintaining environmental compliance related to facility operations (Air, Water, Waste Management).
  • Experience in supporting compliant Environmental, Health and Safety training program related to facility management operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong working knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP standards, biosafety protocols, and relevant environmental health and safety requirements
  • Professional certification such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or related credential

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary JLL Client Relationship Manager, establishing trusted partnerships with client stakeholders while managing formal and informal relationship meetings to measure and address feedback throughout the year
  • Champion a "Safety First" culture by leading EHS compliance initiatives, ensuring all JLL staff and third-party vendors meet safety, GxP, SLA, KPI, and regulatory requirements in GMP manufacturing environments
  • Provide strategic leadership and operational guidance to facilities teams, fostering employee engagement, developing talent for increased responsibilities, and maintaining effective succession planning across all direct reports
  • Ensure strict adherence to GMP/GLP/GDP compliance standards through completion of all required training, audit responses, critical preventive maintenance, and environmental regulations
  • Manage comprehensive facility operations including all IFM indirect equipment and services while understanding contract scope in detail and identifying opportunities to enhance client experience and operational efficiency
  • Develop and manage annual site operating budgets, delivering detailed variance analysis and periodic forecasts while effectively controlling expenses to meet or exceed savings targets with documented tracking
  • Support portfolio-wide standardization initiatives by consolidating vendors, standardizing service level agreements, and implementing all sourcing transitions and service level changes as required
  • Lead sustainability programs by actively participating in demand response, recycling initiatives, and special environmental events while promoting both client and JLL sustainability objectives
  • Conduct performance management processes including goal setting in Workday, mid-year and year-end reviews, and recognition programs that celebrate team and individual success
  • Oversee financial processes and controls including competitive bidding, change order requests, purchase order issuance, and work receipting in collaboration with Facility Coordinators and Contract Services
