About The Position

Top Metal Solutions is seeking highly experienced and dependable individuals to join our team as a Senior Fabricator - Level 2. This position is designed for advanced fabricators capable of independently managing complex fabrication projects while supporting production efficiency, fixture development, and workflow consistency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As a Senior Fabricator - Level 2, you will play a key role in structural fabrication, custom production projects, fixture development, and fabrication troubleshooting. This role requires advanced layout and fitting abilities, precision fabrication knowledge, and the ability to maintain high production and quality standards with minimal supervision. We are looking for professionals who take pride in craftsmanship, understand manufacturing processes, and contribute positively to a high-performance fabrication team. The Senior Fabricator - Level 2 is responsible for performing advanced fabrication, layout, fitting, and assembly work on structural and custom metal components while maintaining tight tolerances, production efficiency, and fabrication quality. This position requires the ability to independently complete fabrication projects from blueprint interpretation through final assembly while supporting workflow improvements, fixture development, and repeatable production processes. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting abilities, advanced fitting experience, and the capability to support less experienced fabricators when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of fabrication experience required
  • Advanced blueprint reading and fabrication layout skills required
  • Strong understanding of fabrication sequence, distortion control, and tolerance management
  • High-level fitting and assembly squaring experience required
  • Ability to fabricate complete assemblies independently from start to finish
  • Strong experience building fixtures, templates, and production jigs
  • Advanced GMAW and FCAW-G welding experience required
  • Ability to identify and resolve fit-up, dimensional, and fabrication issues
  • Strong troubleshooting and production problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to maintain high production consistency and fabrication quality
  • Strong attention to detail, workflow efficiency, and craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, distortion control, and fabrication sequencing
  • Ability to fit and weld complete assemblies independently
  • Strong production mindset and problem-solving abilities required
  • Consistent quality and production output required
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and leadership mentality
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly
  • Ability to bend, kneel, push, pull, and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to work safely around fabrication machinery and welding equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in structural or custom fabrication environments preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Experience supporting production workflow improvements
  • Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced fabricators
  • Experience with structural steel fabrication projects
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Welding certifications are a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings and blueprints
  • Perform advanced layout, fitting, and fabrication work while maintaining tight tolerances
  • Fabricate racks, containers, structural assemblies, and custom production components
  • Build, modify, and improve production fixtures, templates, and fabrication jigs
  • Identify and correct dimensional, squareness, and fit-up issues during fabrication
  • Perform GMAW and FCAW-G welding as required for fabrication projects
  • Support production efficiency through proper setup and fabrication planning
  • Assist with troubleshooting fabrication and assembly issues on the production floor
  • Maintain fabrication standards, workflow consistency, and repeatability
  • Support and guide less experienced fabricators when needed
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
