About The Position

Clifford Chance US LLP is seeking a full-time Senior Events Coordinator for our Washington DC office. This position will report to the Head of Events & Strategic Sponsorships - Americas and will be a member of the Client Marketing and Development ("CMD") team. The Senior Events Coordinator will focus primarily on coordinating client-facing events for the Washington DC office and assist in supporting significant client events throughout the Americas region. This role will collaborate closely with colleagues in CMD and Communications, as well as with lawyers, external associations, and event agencies to deliver seamless, high-impact events that align with Clifford Chance’s strategic goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of event planning experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an ability to quickly learn new technologies and software tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proactive, a self-starter, and strong sense of integrity, professionalism, and self-awareness, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to make effective decisions using sound judgment.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively and building strong relationships across teams.
  • Excellent organizational and client service skills, with a meticulous approach to execution
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned including working outside the core business hours as needed.
  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 15%.
  • Must be able to adhere and comply with the Firm's Agile Working Policy which requires employees to work from the office at least three days each calendar week.
  • Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of a variety of client-facing events for the Washington, DC office, including client receptions, seminars, webinars, conference sponsorships, alumni gatherings, and other firm-hosted social events.
  • Proactively research and source local venues and vendors for events; lead contract negotiations with venues, entertainment providers, and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective services.
  • Collaborate closely with the Brand, Communications & Marketing ("BCM") team to ensure all events reflect Clifford Chance’s brand identity and support regional strategic goals.
  • Leverage the Firm’s online marketing platforms and CRM system to manage event logistics and communications; build deep expertise in client engagement protocols to ensure compliance with Clifford Chance’s global policies on privacy, hospitality, and related matters.
  • Coordinate and conduct site inspections for potential off-site event venues, including conferences and dinners; occasional travel required.
  • Stay current with industry trends and marketplace developments to continuously enhance event offerings; contribute innovative ideas and improvements to existing programs and initiatives.
  • Provide centralized team support to the wider CMD team in the region.
  • Perform other projects and assignments as assigned by the Head of Events & Strategic Sponsorships - Americas.
