The Senior Event Manager, Reinsurance independently leads complex, high-visibility Reinsurance meetings, conferences, client events, sponsorship activations, and leadership programs. Serving as the sole owner and primary point of contact for assigned programs, this senior individual contributor translates business objectives into event strategies and delivers exceptional experiences through strong judgment, financial stewardship, operational discipline, and proactive risk management. Additionally, they apply a creative, attendee-centric approach when designing the event experience. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of progressive corporate event management experience, deep event operations expertise, strong executive presence, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor in a large, global, matrixed organization. Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive corporate event management experience, including independent ownership of complex, high-visibility programs.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple programs through the full event lifecycle with minimal oversight.
  • Strong executive presence, stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and project leadership skills.
  • Experience influencing across a large, global, matrixed organization and serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Strong Cvent expertise across registration websites, mobile apps, reporting, attendee management, and post-event budget entry.
  • Advanced Excel and Financial Management Skills.
  • Microsoft Suite skills
  • Deep knowledge of venue sourcing, hotel contracting, food and beverage, audiovisual production, supplier management, event technology, onsite operations, compliance, governance, procurement, brand, and documentation requirements.
  • Highly organized, collaborative, adaptable, solutions-oriented, and calm under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Monday.com or a similar work-management platform preferred but not required.
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is a plus, but not required.
  • Industry experience in financial, professional, consulting, or commercial insurance services is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex, multi-workstream events and programs from intake and strategy through onsite execution, reconciliation, and post-event close, with minimal oversight.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business partners and senior stakeholders by shaping event strategy, anticipating needs, and resolving issues before escalation.
  • Align events with business priorities, growth objectives, governance requirements, and attendee experience goals.
  • Design and create unique attendee experiences and activations that reflect Aon’s brand values and tone.
  • Facilitate a project management approach to events, guiding and advising planning teams utilizing project boards, detailed meeting summaries and actively driving development of planning timelines.
  • Own event production through the design and implementation of Lead project plans, timelines, communications, run-of-show documents, staffing plans, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Manage venue sourcing and contracting, room blocks, food and beverage, offsite programs, destination management companies, suppliers, and onsite operations.
  • Lead audiovisual and production planning.
  • Oversee registration including, development of attendee communications, registration reporting and reporting, and data quality.
  • Leverage event technology to increase engagement and provide reporting and analytics.
  • Manage post-event success through the debrief process, developing, analyzing and reporting on both qualitative and quantitative results.
  • Lead advanced budget management, assess cost drivers and recommend adjustments to mitigate financial risk.
  • Responsible for all budget-related activities throughout the event lifecycle, including maintaining accurate records, ensuring timely payments, assessing cost drivers, and recommending adjustments to mitigate financial risk. Ensures all events are closed out in a timely manner and come in under budget.
  • Model best-in-class compliance and governance and advise stakeholders and colleagues on sourcing, contracting, procurement, brand, documentation, and event process requirements.
  • Travel onsite to lead execution, resolve issues in real time, and ensure a polished attendee experience.
  • Strengthens governance and operational standards, improves team practices, and builds team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.
