This role is an essential first step in the sales and bidding process, involving working with engineers, design plans, and specs. The Senior Estimator will partner with customers to provide timely insight and consultation, setting the pace for projects and supporting critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate feels a sense of victory watching a project come to life and guiding it to completion, is driven and detail-oriented, enjoys the flexibility of managing their day, appreciates the importance of deadlines and can adapt as needed to meet them, enjoys solving problems and working with others to come up with solutions, and wants to put their prior estimating skills to great use with an industry leader.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of bid preparation or related experience
  • Familiarity with estimation software, like Planswift
  • An understanding of waterworks products and infrastructure
  • Experience in waterworks, underground utilities, or civil construction estimating
  • Strong understanding of municipal specifications, submittments, and project documentation
  • Ability to prioritize multiple bids and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in takeoffs and quote preparation
  • Experience working directly with contractors, engineers, and project managers

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of waterworks materials (DI pipe, C900, fittings, valves, hydrants) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare bids and quotes.
  • Work with engineers and design plans.
  • Partner with customers to provide timely insight and consultation.
  • Set the pace for projects.
  • Support critical infrastructure projects.
  • Prioritize multiple bids and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure high level of attention to detail and accuracy in takeoffs and quote preparation.
  • Work directly with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
  • Contribute to process improvements and organization of job folders/bid tracking.
