About The Position

The Senior Epilepsy Technologist will serve as a Subject Matter Expert and assist other Epilepsy Technologists with complex or unique matters. This role involves performing the application and removal of electrodes, reviewing data for seizure activity and abnormalities, and editing data for physician review. The technologist will also assist nursing staff with patients during seizures, maintaining patient safety, and performing seizure testing with patients during their events. Additionally, the position includes performing outpatient procedures such as PET, SPECT, Wada, and Ambulatory studies, as well as CEEG procedures in the ICU setting, intracranial monitoring in the EMU and OR, and communicating with coworkers and physicians about changes in patient status. The Senior Epilepsy Technologist will also assist other areas of Diagnostic Neurology and have on-call responsibilities for EEG.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) in Neurodiagnostic Technology or 18 months experience in a related field required.
  • 3+ Years of experience as an Epilepsy Technologist.
  • Obtains R.EEG T., through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET).
