About The Position

The Senior Epilepsy Technologist will serve as a Subject Matter Expert, assisting other Epilepsy Technologists with complex or unique matters. This role involves performing the application and removal of electrodes, reviewing data for seizure activity and abnormalities, and editing data for physician review. The technologist will also assist nursing staff with patients during seizures, maintaining patient safety, and performing seizure testing during patient events. Additionally, they will conduct outpatient procedures such as PET, SPECT, Wada, and Ambulatory studies, as well as CEEG procedures in the ICU setting and intracranial monitoring in the EMU and OR. Communication with coworkers and physicians regarding changes in patient status is crucial, and the role may involve assisting other areas of Diagnostic Neurology and on-call responsibilities for EEG.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) in Neurodiagnostic Technology or 18 months experience in a related field required.
  • 3+ Years of experience as an Epilepsy Technologist.
  • Obtains R.EEG T., through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET).

Responsibilities
