About The Position

IonQ, Inc. is seeking a Senior Enterprise Account Executive to join its Go-To-Market team. This role will be responsible for bringing IonQ's quantum offerings, including hardware, software, applications, and access, to a select group of clients within specific industry verticals. The position is an individual contributor role with the potential for future team leadership. IonQ is a leading quantum platform and merchant supplier, offering integrated quantum solutions across computing, networking, sensing, and security. Their latest quantum computers are helping customers achieve significant performance improvements and accelerate innovation in various fields. IonQ is headquartered in College Park, Maryland, with global operations and its services available through major cloud providers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience selling to the Enterprise with quota-carrying responsibilities.
  • Proven track record of closing multi-million dollar infrastructure or platform deals.
  • Proven ability to sell "off-budget" or "future-state" solutions.
  • Ability to navigate unique procurement requirements.
  • Experience selling high-performance computing (HPC), AI infrastructure, or complex software solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing executive-level relationships (CTO, CIO, Head of Quantum) within Enterprise Customers.
  • Knowledge of Quantum Technologies (Compute and Networks) and their relation to Quantum Algorithms/Applications in Enterprise Customers.
  • Experience in category creation selling for frontier technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own executive-level relationships with target accounts in partnership with a Field Engineer.
  • Generate a robust pipeline across IonQ’s full stack, including Quantum Computing, Quantum Networking, Quantum Security, and Quantum Sensing.
  • Prioritize opportunities based on use cases and strategic alignment with IonQ’s roadmap.
  • Own the entire sales lifecycle, from initial relationship building and technical qualification to RFP response, negotiation, and closing.
  • Ensure support from the broader organization to pursue opportunities.
  • Partner with Customer Success post-sale to ensure high satisfaction, drive renewals, and identify expansion opportunities.
