Opportunity Overview We are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician at our Nextest Memory Test Division location in San Jose, CA , to support engineering activities such as prototype assembly, test, modification of electro-mechanical assemblies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience
  • Associate degree, or vocational or technical school degree or relevant experience
  • Basic electrical engineering theory.
  • Experience with safety protocols surrounding hazardous voltages (120VAC, 208VAC, etc.)
  • Can read and understand electrical schematics diagrams.
  • Hands-on set-up and testing experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate computer skills like programming software, graphic drawing, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Teamwork oriented.
  • Familiarity with machine shop practices, including knowledge of materials and operation of common machine shop equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • SolidWorks or other CAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with engineering to assemble and debug prototypes.
  • Build/modify/repair cable harnesses using wiring diagrams and BOMs.
  • Rework all types of mechanical components using hand or power tools.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of systems using Digital Multi Meter and schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Provide feedback to engineering on assembly and testing design issues.
  • Assist with installation of testers and other lab equipment.
  • Manage Lab supplies and maintain lab areas.
