About The Position

Join IS&T’s Services Technology team to lead projects building IT systems for Apple TV Studio & Production and Music operations. Employee Experience and Productivity (EEP), part of IS&T, delivers communication and productivity technology and services across Apple, supports Apple’s workforce, leads user experience design and research, and manages systems for Apple’s original content studios. The Senior Engineering Project Manager oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of Apple enterprise web applications and manages multiple major projects from inception through delivery. The role ensures alignment with strategic goals, technical excellence, timely delivery, scope, budget, and Apple’s quality standards. It includes leading and mentoring contractor EPMs and project teams, defining and improving Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, and using generative AI tools to accelerate documentation and optimize workflows. The position collaborates closely with Functional, Design, Product, Business, and Engineering stakeholders. It translates business requirements into functional and technical specifications and explains technical complexities to non-technical stakeholders. The role also identifies and mitigates risks, removes delivery impediments, drives quality through requirements, design, testing, and deployment, and facilitates technical discussions and design reviews.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
At least 4 years of experience as an Engineering Project Manager successfully delivering complex, cross-functional projects.
At least 4 years of experience successfully delivering Agile projects.
At least 4 years of experience working in complex, highly integrated, cross-functional environments.
Hands-on experience with generative AI technologies.
Knowledge of containerization concepts and orchestration, such as Kubernetes and Docker.
Experience with DevOps process automation tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins and testing frameworks.
Experience working with distributed, global, and offshore teams.
Experience with observability and monitoring systems such as Dynatrace or DataDog.
Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns, including microservices, asynchronous communication, caching strategies, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Proficiency working with SQL or NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with full-stack development concepts, including backend technologies such as Java or Node.js and frontend frameworks such as React.js.
Comfort with rapid development cycles and tight schedules.
High ownership, self-sufficiency, and a hands-on leadership approach, with innovative and creative thinking.
Ability to present confidently and clearly to senior leadership.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to translate complex business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage several major, complex engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
Define, implement, and continuously improve SDLC processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and quality.
Lead, mentor, and manage contractor EPMs and other project personnel, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.
Bridge business, functional, design, and engineering teams by translating business requirements into actionable technical plans and communicating technical complexities to non-technical stakeholders.
Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, and develop contingency plans.
Remove team impediments and resolve project delivery issues.
Drive quality across requirements definition, technical design, testing, and deployment.
Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and timelines.
Facilitate technical discussions, design reviews, and architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with Apple’s standards and best practices.
Leverage modern generative AI tools to accelerate documentation and optimize workflows.
