Sr Engineering Manager – Private AI
About The Position
Broadcom is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead development of its Private AI products and services and manage strategic contributions to the AI upstream community. Reporting to Senior Leadership, this role will define engineering culture and drive Broadcom’s investment in the AI and CNCF ecosystem. The successful candidate will lead a global engineering organization focused on technical excellence and rapid innovation. The role oversees components of Private AI, ensuring they meet global enterprise customer requirements while strengthening Broadcom’s influence in the upstream AI community. Success is measured by platform stability, release velocity, and Broadcom’s standing as a contributor to the CNCF AI ecosystem.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of deep involvement in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Experience leading a team that delivers Kubernetes enterprise software or solutions.
- Deep technical background and influential status within the Kubernetes and broader CNCF ecosystem, ideally demonstrated through a maintainer or SIG Chair role, or substantial upstream contributions.
- Experience managing engineering teams in distributed, global environments.
- Proven experience building or operating large-scale distributed systems, control planes, or IaaS/PaaS offerings comparable to EKS, GKE, or OpenShift.
- At least 15 years of total experience, including at least 5 years in management.

- Active leadership status in a CNCF graduated project.
- Experience leading cloud-native transformations in legacy enterprise environments.
- An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Responsibilities
- Lead global engineering teams focused on Private AI core development and lifecycle management, including deep integration with vSphere, NSX, and vSAN.
- Work with major partner companies to deliver joint products and solutions.
- Define and execute Broadcom’s upstream contribution roadmap, ensuring engineers are influential in key AI-related open-source projects.
- Own the end-to-end SDLC for Private AI projects, ensuring production-grade reliability, security compliance, and seamless day-two operations for enterprise customers.
- Act as a primary technical representative for Broadcom in the AI and CNCF ecosystem.
