About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Product Engineering Manager to manage and develop airgap-native software and ensure it integrates seamlessly with UDS to accelerate the ATO. The role oversees development of innovative solutions that meet customer needs and support product success in National Defense. It combines technical expertise and leadership with a deep understanding of modern software systems.

The manager will guide a team of engineers, foster continuous improvement, and deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure products. The role collaborates with Product, Growth, and Delivery teams to align engineering work with the company roadmap and customer requirements. Travel expectations are 10–25%. Responsibilities may evolve based on organizational needs.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of industry experience, preferably building, maintaining, and managing platforms and infrastructure.
• At least 2 years of experience managing engineering teams, including in a remote, distributed environment.
• Strong software engineering background and deep experience architecting and delivering scalable solutions using cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, while deploying cloud-native software to Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a track record of inspiring and empowering teams.
• High technical proficiency and ability to work within the team to solve complex problems.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Contributions to open-source projects or published projects.
• Familiarity with cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes.
• Experience with Zarf and the UDS ecosystem.
• Understanding of airgapped systems, edge devices, and semi-disconnected software delivery.
• Mobile development experience, particularly Android software development.

Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire, and manage a team of engineers developing and maintaining UDS-compatible applications.
• Own team deliverables and ensure timely delivery of scalable, highly available products that exceed customer expectations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage engineering roadmaps in alignment with Product objectives.
• Promote continuous improvement in code quality, architecture, and processes, driving innovation and efficiency.
• Mentor and guide team members’ professional and technical development.
• Facilitate communication between clients or customers and engineers to clarify specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
• Stay current with trends, developments, and technologies to improve product lines and production efficiency.
• Adapt to additional responsibilities as organizational needs evolve.
