About The Position

EverCommerce is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for its Invoice Simple brand, a rapidly growing leader in the invoicing app market. Invoice Simple provides tools for hundreds of thousands of small businesses and solopreneurs globally to manage their operations. The company utilizes TypeScript, ReactJS, Node.js, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, with a focus on continuous delivery, automated testing, and leveraging AI for user benefit. This role is ideal for a highly technical and seasoned leader with a strong understanding of engineering best practices, Agile methodologies, and Product-Led Growth (PLG) environments. The manager will be responsible for leading and scaling engineering teams, attracting top talent, driving innovation in AI features, and ensuring process excellence. The position is remote and can be based anywhere in Canada.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of overall software engineering experience, including a proven track record as a Senior Software Engineer.
  • 3+ years of experience managing software engineering teams, ideally managing multiple pods or a team of 7+ engineers.
  • Deep understanding of the Product-Led Growth (PLG) model, experiment-driven development, and modern Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Demonstrated success in interviewing, closing, and managing highly senior engineers.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad range of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in full-stack web/mobile development.
  • Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks (ideally TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB/PostgreSQL).
  • Experience effectively leading, motivating, and fostering a strong culture within a remote or distributed work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be eligible to work without sponsorship.
  • May require travel to Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or other office locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading teams building AI products, LLM integrations, or autonomous Agents.
  • Production experience working with massively adopted (100k+ users) mobile applications.
  • Experience with payment concepts, APIs, and fintech integrations.
  • Previous experience working in fast-moving startup environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of approximately 9 direct reports across Core (PLG) and DataIQ (AI/Agents) teams.
  • Act as a talent magnet to identify, attract, and hire highly senior engineering talent (Staff+).
  • Champion experiment-driven development (A/B testing, rapid prototyping) to support the Product-Led Growth model, focusing on user acquisition, retention, and monetization.
  • Oversee the technical execution of the DataIQ team, guiding the development of AI features and Agents.
  • Lead all aspects of the software development lifecycle across multiple pods, improving team processes, cadence, and predictability using Agile expertise.
  • Serve as a technical translator and strategic partner, communicating effectively with product management, engineering peers, executive leadership, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage performance, provide ongoing coaching, and develop engineers to their full potential.
