About the position
ActionIQ is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and develop a team of software engineers in delivering new features for their Customer Data Platform (CDP). The successful candidate will collaborate with the Product, Operations, and Engineering teams to identify and implement service and software investments that support company growth and scalability. They will also advocate for engineering excellence, improve software delivery processes, and promote internal growth and learning within the team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing product-focused backend software engineers, a track record of delivering new capabilities in a product/platform environment, and the ability to recruit and retain engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of software engineers to collaborate with the Product team and deliver new features
- Partner with Product, Operations, and Engineering peers to identify service and software investments needed for company growth and scalability
- Advocate for engineering excellence within the team and across teams
- Improve software delivery processes to accelerate development
- Promote internal growth and learning while building the team
- Manage a group of Product focused Backend Software Engineers
- Write and ship software for commercial use in a collaborative environment
- Deliver new capabilities in a product/platform environment
- Utilize agile team project management experience (as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Tech Lead)
- Recruit, coach, and retain engineers, especially Senior and Staff engineers
- Give, receive, and act on feedback
- Create and foster inclusive, positive work environments
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing a group of Product focused Backend Software Engineers
- Experience writing and shipping software for commercial use in a collaborative environment
- Track record of working in a product/platform environment to deliver new capabilities
- Agile team project management experience (as a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Tech Lead)
- Experience recruiting, coaching, and retaining engineers, especially Senior and Staff engineers
- Ability to give, receive, and act on feedback
- Track record of creating and fostering inclusive, positive work environments
