About The Position

Dish Network LLC is hiring a Senior Engineer to design, develop, and support Roku channel applications using NDK, C++, and QT frameworks. The role focuses on delivering high-performance streaming experiences, building responsive user interfaces, integrating content and metadata APIs, and ensuring reliable playback across Roku hardware models. The engineer also implements secure authentication and commerce flows, testing and analytics capabilities, and supports channel certification, deployments, and post-release issue resolution.

The position works with UI/UX, product management, QA, and engineering teams in an Agile software development environment. It includes code reviews and technical design discussions to improve platform quality and maintainability. Multiple positions are available. The role is located in Englewood, Colorado.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or in a role involving software design, development, testing, analytics instrumentation, and maintenance.
• 4 years of professional experience conducting unit, functional, and regression testing, and debugging applications with platform-specific tools and logging utilities.
• 4 years of professional experience optimizing application performance, including memory management, network retry logging, concurrency handling, and cross-device compatibility testing.
• 4 years of professional experience designing and maintaining modular codebases, including refactoring, version control workflows, and peer code review participation.
• 4 years of professional experience troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective solutions in distributed client-server environments.
• 2 years of professional experience working in Agile software development environments and collaborating with UI/UX, product management, QA, and engineering teams.
• 3 years of professional experience integrating RESTful APIs, performing JSON/XML parsing, and implementing client-side data processing logic.
• 1 year of professional experience developing applications using C++, NDK, or QT, including UI implementation and API integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Roku channel applications using NDK, C++, and QT frameworks.
• Architect and implement responsive user interfaces based on design specifications and platform guidelines.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs for content delivery and metadata retrieval, including JSON/XML parsing and client-side data handling.
• Optimize video playback performance, buffering logic, memory management, and device compatibility across Roku hardware models.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and commerce flows aligned with Roku platform requirements.
• Develop automated unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability and stability.
• Debug client-side issues using Roku tools, logging frameworks, and performance instrumentation.
• Implement analytics tracking, event logging, and observability mechanisms for playback and user engagement metrics.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions to improve platform quality and maintainability.
• Support production deployments, certification processes, and post-release issue resolution for Roku channel releases.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective solutions in distributed client-server environments.
